Phacoemulsification in complicated cataracts

  1. Non-dilating pupil: Well versed in using pupil expander devices ie., Iris hooks, Malyugin ring, B-Hex rings when necessary.
  2. Shallow Anterior Chamber and Hypermetropic eyes: With adequate measures have performed phacoemulsification in these cases successfully with excellent results.
  3. Brunescent and Hard cataracts: Proper technique of meticulously chopping of hard nucleus and giving the best visual acuity on the first postoperative day with clear cornea has been my strength as a chief Phaco surgeon.
  4. Cataract with weak zonules: Experienced in using Capsular Tension Ring, Cionni Capsular Tension Segments for bag fixation when required.
  5. Corneal Opacity/Hazy media: Have performed successful phacoemulsification in cases of hazy media due to corneal opacities.
  6. Phacomorphic Glaucoma: With adequate preoperative management and also meticulous intraoperative techniques of decompression, I have successfully managed phacomorphic glaucoma.
  7. Intumescent Cataract: I have presented my novel technique of capsulorrhexis in intumescent cataract in 33rd congress of ESCRS at barcelona.
  8. Cataract in Post Radial keratotomy: With judicious IOL power calculation and proper positioning of Sclero-Corneal incisions I have been able to perform phaco with excellent outcomes.
  9. Traumatic cataract: With proper preoperative planning and adequate experience in using anterior vitrectomy, traumatic cataracts have been managed in single or two surgical steps.
  10. Femto second assisted laser cataract surgery (FLACS): I have used this technology in multiple number of cataract cases apart from routine like mature cataract (manual module), subluxated cataracts (for centered capsulorrhexis), Fuch’s dystrophy (softening to reduce total amount of energy used in phaco), Arcuate incisions (corneal astigmatism).

Premium IOL surgery

  1. Toric IOLs: Adequate expertise in Preoperative calculation, marking and intraoperative alignment of IOL to deliver emmetropia on postoperative day 1.
  2. Multifocal / EDOF IOLs: well versed with art of Patient selection, preoperative counselling, addressing concerns and expectations of demanding patients apart from ruling out any contraindication for multifocal IOLs like retinal pathology and high angle kappa. Have confidently performed many phaco surgeries with multifocal/ EDOF IOLs

Refractive Surgeries

  1. Thorough and extensive preoperative evaluation with good command on interpretation of various diagnostic modalities like Corneal Tomography, Anterior Segment OCT, etc
